Rags and cloths soaked with solvents, thinners, linseed oil, combustible adhesives and other flammable liquids present a serious fire risk when improperly discarded. The lid opens to no more than 60 degrees and stays closed when not in use, isolating the contents from fire sources and limiting oxygen to almost reduce the possibility of spontaneous combustion. The can's spherical design and high base allow air to circulate around it, dispersing heat and preventing moisture buildup and corrosion. Chemical resistance is provided by the durable steel construction with a powder-coat finish.
